PLEASE let this be a one time thing..

So let me start with last night.. there was a thunder storm which means Ollie and Grace were both in our bed because they don't like thunder.. especially Ollie.. we have learned that if we don't let him in our bed when it is thundering he will scratch at our door ALL night long (he even tore the carpet up one time when we tried to leave him in the livingroom during a thunderstorm). Well at about 3 am the thunder clapped extraordinarily loud and woke Grace up, so of course she thought it was time to play.. and let me tell you there is no getting that child back to sleep.. she has to play it out, literally. So Chris and I had to get up with Grace, and I started feeling a little woozy, like the sight or thought of food made me feel sick, and I was a little dizzy, but I just chalked it up to me being extremely tired. Finally Grace went back to sleep at 7 am! That child is going to kill me. I was so thankful to be able to go back to sleep, but then at 9:30 my body woke me up.. I just knew I was going to have my first experience with morning sickness, so I ran to the bathroom, but nothing happened. I still felt horrible (like it was coming no matter what), so I sat on the couch waiting, and here I am at 2:30 pm, still nothing. I feel absolutely gross. I have to look away from restaurant commercials because the sight of food makes it worse. Every five minutes I feel like it's finally going to happen, but then nothing. It is miserable! 5 hours of nausea! I have never had this before. I only threw up twice the whole time I was pregnant with Grace and there was no nausea involved. I was fine one minute, sick the next, and then fine again. I am just not used to this at all.. This is taking my mind off of it a little bit, and I am sucking on some hard candy (thank-you for the advice Erica!) which seems to be helping some, but I just want it to go away. Please Lord only let this be a one time thing!!

  1. Good Luck!!!! I remember that so well. I felt so sick with ellanoa. I really thought that I was going to throw up. I would get extremely dizzy also and have some bad heart palpitations. Hard candy also helped me some. especially butterscotch...still have a whole drawer full. Ginger pops also made me feel a bit better ans lasted a good bit. I would suck on one until I felt better and then wrap them up and use again later. They come in all sorts of flavors and a lot of pharmacy's sell them. Sorry you dont feel well but remember that if your sick the baby is healthy. It is better to feel the syptoms of pregnancy rather than feel nothing. This way you know baby is growing like he should.

  2. Honestly I did not know that about feeling the symptoms.. no one has ever told me that, but it good to know :) Here we are at 6:30, and my nausea isn't so bad, but I am having aches and pains as if the flu is coming back.. I sure hope not!

  3. Yeah. It is a horrible feeling but it is good to know baby is okay. As long as there was no bleeding I was happy :)

  4. Oh yes, I am thankful there is no bleeding. I would probably freak if that happened. I just cannot imagine losing a baby. I wasn't planning on havng another so soon, but I already love it with everything I have! I just know it is a boy. I didn't have a clue with Grace.. I was 50/50, but I am about 95% sure it is a boy.

  5. Yeah I had some bleeding with Ellanoa when I was 6 weeks and I freaked. went to the hospital to find out I had a friable cervix which just meant that is was sensitive and that I had had a threaten miscarriage. It scared the living crap out of me. I had already loved her so much just as you said. Yeah I knew what they all were and was right every time. Boys are so fun!!! I cant wait to see ultrasounds and pics...Im so excited...plus that means I get to shop around for little boy clothes...There is so many cute things that Kaedyn is just to big for :( And yeah I remember you saying that you wanted more children but just later down the road...Well like Drew always says...If you want to see God laugh tell Him your plans...You wanted it later down the road but God wanted it now. And of course you love it already...when I had Kaedyn I didnt think I would ever be able to Love somebody as much as I loved him and then when I saw that positive test with Charleigh It was like boom instant love and then again with Ellanoa.
O and morning sickness is said to be more prominent in pregnancies with boys :)

  6. Ohhh gosh! I'm glad everything was okay! I can't imagine you not having Ely lol. Do you know if they will doan ultrasound at this appointment? They did one at my first appointment with Grace, but I was ten weeks. I will only be four weeks at my appointment this time. I hate the vaginal ultrasounds. I am DREADING that.. so physically uncomfortable!
I like that thing you said Drew says.. I've never thought about that before, but that is so true!

I finally got the courage to eat some saltine crackers and would you know that it made the pains go away?? Not just the nausea, but the body aches.. so weird! I am going to have to stock up on those lol.

  7. I was going to tell you about the saltine crackers while I was eating some earlier. I munch on them quite a bit still since my stomach is still queasy and hasnt gotten back to normal yet. But yea like I was saying I was going to tell you that earlier along with eating anything heavy in starch and carbs like potatoes or bread will also help with morning sickness. But at first i remember that being just to much for me so so I stuck with the little starched and carbs like special K cereal and saltines :)
Most likely they will do an ultrasound or schedule one for you soon after. They may just get family history and weight/blood pressure checks and of course some blood and then have you come back in a couple weeks to have one done. Usually 8 or 12 weeks. It will be to check that baby is in the right spot and to get a due date/ I know you said you looked it up...I mean you do know the day the condom broke but sperm can live inside you for up to 5 days in some woman though average is 3. So you may not have necessarily gotten pregnant that night. Also the fertilized egg has to plant before you get a positive and that can also take a couple days to a week.

  8. Well, I was ovulating the day of and the day after, so it should be the 28th or 29th of August. I have always been able to tell since I had Grace, but of course, like you said, implantation can be a few days after that. I really hope they do one Tuesday though! I wanna see my baby :) I waited 22 days to take the test. At first I didn't think I was pregnant, then I did, so I wanted to get accurate results. It was the longest 22 days of my life!!

  9. Yeah I know what you mean. I just knew that I had gotten pregnant with ely and it took forever to test.I was right. I got 2 bright pink lines!!!!!
I have no idea how to tell if i am ovulating. I know alot about pregnancy but not much about that. But if you do get an ultrasound most likely you will only be able to see a sack...which was always good enough for me. I knew my little peanut was in their. You can always go to a birthright place to get an ultrasound. They are a Christian organization that gives out advice and help to mothers plus a free ultrasound.

  11. Ya. I was sick with Samantha all the time. It sucked, but if you do keep getting sick, the doctor will probably prescribe you some medicine.
