One month!

So, Brentley will actually be six weeks old tomorrow, but I wanted to save this post for after his one month check-up (which was delayed due to a mix up with insurance).

He had his one month check-up today, and he is a happy, healthy little boy. He weighs 14lbs 11ozs (holy cow!), and he is 23 and a half inches long.

He can hold his head up, and he can smile. He is now starting to smile in response to people. He doesn't do it a lot yet, but he does do it. Mostly he smiles when he's falling asleep or already asleep.
His eyes are still dark gray, but his hair now has a red tint to it. And sadly, he started out pretty bald, but now it's even worse. His hair was falling out on top, but it's starting to grow back.  He has also developed a pretty bad case of baby acne. It's covering his face and back. I'm hoping it will clear up pretty soon.

He is in size one diapers and size 0-3 month clothes.

He's definitely a momma's boy. He doesn't tolerate anyone else for more than 15 minutes unless he is asleep lol. But hey, that's long enough for me to get a quick shower, so that's all I can ask for.

Also, this has nothing to do with Brentley, but I just discovered pinterest.com. It is the best website for crafts, recipes, gift ideas, picture ideas, DIY projects, cleaning tips... just about anything you can think of that would be useful to a mom! And you can organize it the way you want. You can also follow people if you like the kind of stuff they pin. I'm already addicted and have found some great ideas on there! If anyone is interested send me your email, and I'll send you an invite (you have to be invited by someoe who is already a member). It's completely free as well. If you don't want to put your email on here let me know, and I'll send you a way that you can get it to me privately.

  2. I was going to post some pics, but I had lost my camera. I found it in the car a few minutes ago though. I need to post some. I'm dying to get a pic of him smiling. I haven't been able to catch it yet :(

If you like the website text me your email, and I'll send you an invite :)

  3. aw, i cant believe he is a month and a half old already!
also a friend of mine told me that breastmilk is a good cure for baby acne, idk if you are breastfeeding but it couldn't hurt to try it if you are.

  4. Yep, I'm breastfeeding, but honestly I think it has the opposite effect on him. Whenever he gets any on his face or neck it's like that spot breaks out worse :(

  6. It kind of bothers me that it does that because I don't think it's normal, but the doctor acted like it was no big deal. I don't like that doctor though.. he's not their normal doctor, but we have to use him until their normal doctor gets back from maternity leave. She is a MUCH better doctor.

  7. yeah, from what ive read its not uncommon for babies to get it and it usually goes away on its own within a few weeks to a few months, if it goes longer sometimes doctors will give you something to put on it.
but you can always ask your regular doctor when she comes back.
