This was the appointment that I have been anxiously awaiting (I was actually 36 weeks and 5 days).
We took Grace to my mom's because she freaks out every time I get an ultrasound. She doesn't understand what they are doing to me, or why I can't hold her. Plus I was supposed to be getting checked, so I didn't really want her there for that either.
We got there and they took us back to ultrasound. He's such a little cutie pie, but boy is he chunky!! He was weighing in at 7lbs 6oz!! I know that those measurements can be as much as 2 lbs off, but since he has measured ahead at every ultrasound I think he really is that big, and there is no way that the due date is wrong because we know the exact day I got pregnant. He is just a big boy!! He is also head and face down, which is great news! I spent an hour pushing with Grace because she was face up, and they had to get her turned.. it was awful.
But anyway, Chris asked the lady if it was bad that he was that big because she was acting amazed. The lady said that they would probably want to induce me because of how big he could potentially be at my due date and because I am so short that it could be a very hard delivery if we waited until my due date. As most of you know, I am highly against being induced this time, so I really didn't like this news. I firgured for sure that if the ultrasound tech was hollering induction that the doctors would be as well.
After the ultrasound they sent us back to the exam room to wait for the doctor. I laid there on the exam bed half naked for about an hour. I was really anxious to know if I was dilated/effaced at all because that could help me avoid an induction, so that hour seemed like an eternity. Then, or course it was just my luck, right when she was about to come exam me she got a call from the hospital saying that she was needed to deliver a baby, so they had to send me home.
Then, when we went to pick Grace up I was showing my mom the ultrasound pics, and I accidentally left them over there :( So, I can't post them yet, but we are going to pick them up tomorrow, so I promise I will post them asap.
I got to go back at 9am this morning. We had to take Grace with us this time, and I figured she would freak out when the doctor was checking me, but she did really well! She let Chris hold her the whole time, and didn't freak out at all.
Anyway, she checked me, and I am 1cm dilated, 70% effaced, and his head is fully engaged!! She didn't even mention an induction at all. She said that I have had a wonderful pregnancy, and that I am progressing wonderfully. I am really glad she was not already trying to schedule an induction! I really want to let this happen naturally, and now I am much more confident that my body is progressing and is going to do this on it's own :) Now, hopefully he doesn't get so big that I end up needing a c-section.
As far as symptoms, I don't have many. Spicy foods give me horrible heartburn. I am still nesting like crazy. I have to pee ALL the time!! Lol. And for some reason my dizziness has returned. It was gone for several weeks, and I was loving it. I thought it was over, but now it is back full force. I feel like I am constantly light-headed :( And of course, I am HUGE! Lol. I will take a pic and post it with his ultrasound pictures tomorrow :) My belly button is even poking out this time. It didn't poke out with Grace. And I do have some stretch marks under my belly already. I didn't get stretch marks with Grace until the last 2 weeks of pregnancy.
Other than that, we have pretty much everthing ready for his arrival. The only thing left that we need is a baby book for him (one of the ones where you fill in the blanks). And all I have left to do in his room is put up the signs Jessika made for him and put up his valance :) It's pretty much just a waiting game now

Cheyenne was helping to give me the presents.
And Grace was helping me open them lol.
We had our maternity pictures done last weekend, but in all honesty I was none too impressed. We were going to take the pics by the aquarium, but there was some festival, so we decided to move to Coolidge Park instead. Well her car broke down on the way there. I know it wasn't her fault, but we had to stand in the heat forever, so I wasn't looking too hot for pics and Grace was ready to go. She took a bunch of pics, but for some reason she is only giving my 14 of them as an option to buy. I like a couple of them, but then I found out that the prices are not what I thought they were. She had told me $8 for prints, but in reality it's $8 for a sheet of minis or a sheet of wallets. The bigger you want, the more expensive it gets. She was really nice, but I felt sort of jipped. Plus the pictures were not anything amazing. My mom takes just as good of pics.
So my mom and I decided that we would all go back downtown today, and try to get some more pics over at the aquarium where I orginally wanted them. It was going pretty good for about 5 minutes, then this kid walked up like 10 feet away from us, and puked all over the place. EWWW!! My pregnant nose could smell it immediately, and I couldn't handle it, so we decided that we would walk a little further over to get away from the smell.. Umm no such luck because there was freaking puke everywhere. I understand if you get sick you can't help it, but there were also garbage cans everywhere, but he apparently just kept walking and puking on the sidewalk a few inches from the garbage cans. And his parents were doing nothing.. they were just standing there watching him. It definitely ruined my picture experience. We finally got away from it all, but since we were away from the water Grace had no where to play, so she got antsy. We didn't get many pics after that. I guess it is just not meant to be for me to have maternity pictures :(:( Oh well.. I'm still planning on buying a couple from that one lady just to be nice, and hopefully my mom was able to get a few good ones too.

My Gracy girl..
I haven't done a post specifically about Grace in awhile. She is growing so fast!! She will be 21 months old in four days!
For the most part she doesn't really get sick anymore, but the other day she decided to give us a little scare. She started running a fever on and off for three days. We would give her fever reducer, and it would go away, but come back as soon as the medicine wore off. At it's highest (that I know of) it was 103.8!! We took her to the doctor and they couldn't find anything wrong with her. She never showed any other signs of being sick, so I'm not really sure what was going on.
But from that I do know that she now weighs 31 (almost 32) pounds. She definitely a big girl! But she's not really chunky because she is tall too (not sure how tall though because the didn't measure her).
She is very concerned about her body. She had a cut on her foot and every time she would realize it was still there she would grab my hand and make me touch it and give it a kiss. She now has two mosquito bites on her legs that she is very concerned about. She will touch them and say "oh no!" and then make me touch them.
She also has to wipe her feet off before we put her shoes on. She does this every time lol.
She still LOVES to dance. She is amazing at remembering the moves to dances.
Barney is her show. She will barely watch anything else. Sesame Street is the only thing that will hold her attention for any amount of time besides Barney. I really like Word World and Dinosaur Train, but she has no interest in those shows lol. Anyway, we are still planning on doing her party with a Barney theme.
She loves the alphabet song and any song that has counting in it, so the other day I bought her some alphabet flash cards and some number flash cards. Since I have bought them she has already learned how to say the word "five." We are still working on "three" and "four" though lol.
She also is majorly in love with the kitty. Every morning we go to get the kitty out of the bathroom, and she gets so excited to see him :) She loves to give him hugs and kisses (he doesn't like it so much lol), and she loves to get him to chase things. We bought a cat toy today, and she has had a blast. She thinks it is absolutely hilarious to watch him play.
