I have too many aspirations.
I'm currently studying to be a teacher. My degree will be a B.S. in Early Childhood Education. However, I would really love to be a Special Education teacher. That is one thing I aspire to be.
Aside from that, I would love to be a CPST. I could pass that test with ease, but they don't have any courses for it offered anywhere near me :/ Seriously though, maybe people would take me more seriously when I offered car seat safety advice. It makes me sick when I try my hardest to explain car seat safety to someone and they continue to do it incorrectly.
I would also love to be able to work with pregnant teens/teen parents. I've always said that, if I ever won the lottery, I would open one of those high schools specifically for pregnant teens/teen mothers. Of course, that would take a miracle, but at some point in my life, I would like to be able to help in some way. I emailed my former high school counselor telling her that I was willing to help if they ever needed anyone... even if it was just for them to have someone to talk to someone who's been there. She emailed me back and was very enthusiastic. Saying that it was so kind of me to offer and that she would talk to the principle about it and get back to me. Well, she just never got back to me :/ Who knows, maybe one day I will be of some help in some way.
And lastly, I discovered that I like to write. Now, I hate writing when I'm forced to do it (i.e. for assignments), but I actually enjoy it when I can write whatever I want. It's a great stress reliever, and it's very interesting to write my own story. This is going to sound crazy, but I literally wrote a book. Almost 70,000 words and over 340 pages. Yep. A couple of people (that I trust) have read it, and they really liked it. My nana says that she wants to help me send it to some agents. I would LOVE to get it published. Publishing a novel is on my bucket list, but I never imagined it would actually happen. Who knows??
But I really do have way too many aspirations! I know I need to cut back, but I'm passionate about all of these things. I don't think I could cut any of them out. They will always be dreams of mine. Not just dreams, but goals. After I've graduated and have a steady job, I plan to pursue each one of these things. *I don't know why I'm posting this. Just felt like it I guess.

Hey Girl,
ReplyDeleteYou sound like me! I want to take care of the house, homeschool, give speeches, lead the studies at the center, be really involved in Sam's dance, along with family time...and the list goes on. I sometimes wear myself out trying to accomplish everything, but I prefer to be busy than be sitting around watching TV all the time. :)
Sounds like you have some good goals. Maybe you should look more into doing the breastfeeding/carseat safety classes at the center. I know at one point you mentioned it.
Good luck with everything! I can't wait to show you Sam's new Air carseat!!! You'll be so proud!
lol
I would like to look into leading some classes, but I know I won't be able to keep it up once I'm in the program, which is only about 6 months away now. I just have to put all of that on hold for now :/ School has to be my main thing or all of it will have been a waste.
ReplyDeleteI definitely prefer being busy. Unfortunately, I'm stuck at home studying most of the time now. I wish I was done with school. I'd much rather be out earning money or at least helping people in some way.
Can't wait to see it! You guys still coming to the V-day party on Saturday??
It's a great thing to have aspirations!! It gives us something to work for!
ReplyDeleteThat would be awesome if your book ever did get published!! I would be in line to get it!!
Brittany you got Sam a new car seat!!! Awesome!! I wanna see!!! Which seat?
Aww thanks! I'm still fine tuning it, but once I get it exactly how I want it, I'm going to try sending it around. Stephanie Meyer (author of Twilight) wrote those books in the hopes of paying her minivan off. She got enough money to buy an assembly line of minivans now lol. Maybe that will be me someday.
DeleteThat is true. I forgot about that. :( Opportunities will open when it is time. I really hope you get to do everything you want to do.
ReplyDeleteChristina: Is the party Saturday?! I thought it was Friday! If it is Saturday, we will be there for sure! If not, I probably won't make it. (Or we might make it toward the end.) I am co-leading one of the abortion recovery classes (The one I was in when you watching Samantha on Thursdays.) And our first week "retreat" is this Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Meh. I meant to text and tell you that. I thought I did.
Jessika: Yah. We are getting her the AIR 65 Convertible Carsear. We can keep her in a 5 point even longer now. I am super excited!
Yeah, sorry to get your hopes up, but it's Friday. I keep getting all my dates mixed up :/ The party is Friday at 1. I'd say maybe we can hang out on Saturday, but I have to work. Maybe Monday?
DeleteThat's awesome!!! We have used those seats for a couple years now. Charleigh is still rf in hers. We got rid of Kaedyns to get the frontier 85. It harnesses to 85lbs and then boosters to 120lbs!!
DeleteWhy did you choose a convertible for Sam if you don't mind me asking? Is it to pass on when you do have another on. That's a good idea.
Never, ever let go of your dreams! You are an amazing girl. I don't know when the heck you find time to write! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! :) I wrote the bulk of it over summer break, but took a break for awhile. I started writing again over Christmas break. I mostly write after the kids go to bed now. I'm almost completely done with the first book. But, the way I wrote it, there would be a second book. I haven't started it yet though.
