Wooo!

Since the beginning of the year I have already lost 5 more pounds! It was great to look at the scale and see that I had lost that much in a month! I attribute it partly to weight training and partly to having to walk all the way across campus all the time.
The only thing that stinks is, I lost another pants size... okay, well that in itself doesn't stink, but the fact that the two new pairs of pants I bought right after Christmas are already too big! I really enjoyed having pants that fit for a little while lol.

My 20th birthday is Friday. On Thursday night we are going to eat with my dad at Logan's. I love Logan's! Then on Friday afternoon we are going to eat at Shogun with my mom and sister. I love Shogun too! Lol. My mom and sister have some sort of surprise for me. My sister told me that there was a surprise, but she didn't tell me what it was. Chris was wanting to take me out, but I told him to wait for Valentine's Day because I know he'll want to go out then too, so I'd rather spend my birthday with the whole family.

Not much else is going on here... Brentley's first tooth broke through! Already! He's just barely five months old :( He's growing up wayyyyyy too fast on me!

So get this...

My 20th birthday is a week from today. I was planning on spending the first half of it with my mom and sister and the second half with my dad (and of course Chris and the babies all day). I get a phone call from my dad today saying that we will have to plan my birthday dinner for a different day because he wants to take my brother, my autistic brother who hates crowds and loud noises, to the Rinngold vs. Heritage (my brother's school) basketball game... Probably the loudest most crowded basketball game of the season. My brother is going to hate it. I would be mad at him for making my brother go to that even if it wasn't my birthday. And the fact that it is my birthday makes it that much worse. Then he says, "You are welcome to go with us if you want." Seriously?? I went to a total of maybe four basketball games the entire time I was in high school, and there was only one that I actually had fun at. And I can just imagine trying to take my hyper active two year old and my clingy baby to a basketball game. Just how I want to spend my birthday... not!
It just hurts my feelings that my dad cares more about a basketball game than my 20th birthday :( I would NEVER do that to my kids! Their birthdays will be all about them. Even if he was doing this for my brother, which I know he's not, it's still not right. And he is only using my brother as an excuse to go himself. He goes to basketball games all the time, and he knows he would sound like a jerk if he went by himself instead of spending my birthday with me, but he knows if he's the dad who took his mentally challenged son to the biggest basketball game of the season, then he is going to sound like a great guy (most people don't know about Cody's autism, so they don't know he actually hates that sort of thing).
Grrr... I let my guard down and let myself think that my relationship with my dad is getting better, and then he goes and does something like this.

I don't know... I just can't imagine doing something like this on my kids' birthdays. If it is Grace's birthday, we are going to do whatever Grace wants. If it is Brentley's birthday, we are going to do whatever Brentley wants. If Brentley wants to go to a basketball game on Grace's birthday, he will just have to miss it. If Grace wants to go to the mall on Brentley's birthday, she will have to go another day. Heck, if there was something I wanted to do on one of their birthdays, I would most certainly miss it. My children will always be most important, and they will be raised to know that their sibling is more important than anything else.
I guess not everyone feels the same though :(

3 weeks!

Tomorrow I will have finished my first three weeks of this semester.
I haven't had any tests yet, but I have had three quizzes and a paper (which was five pages long). I made an 80 on my first quiz in my Critical Issues in Education class... it's actually better than it sounds because there was only five questions. I only missed one.
I made an 80 on my pre-cal quiz. I made stupid mistakes :(
I haven't gotten the grades back for my other quiz or paper yet, but I am confident that I made a 100 on the quiz, and I think I did well on the paper :) Both of those are for my Critical Issues class.
I have two presentations coming up in my Education Pyschology class. Both are group presentations. Our first one is on Feb. 2nd. It only has to be 7-10 minutes long... easy. But our second one is on Feb 14th, and it has to be 60 MINUTES LONG!!! And get this... we are group 1. Group 5 doesn't go until the end of April! I am still trying to figure out how a college profeesor came up with such an unfair assignment. All the other groups get more time to work on their presentation than we do.
But anyway, I have spent most of today getting all the information together for my part of the presentations because we have group time tomorrow, so we are going to work on all the powerpoints and handouts. At least I have a good group!

That's about it as far as school goes for now.

Oh, one good thing... Brentley (and Chris lol) is starting to get used to me being gone. He has his good days and bad days, but he has had two good days in a row!! He hates the bottle, so Chris doesn't even try to give it to him anymore. He said it just makes Brentley even more mad, and that Brentley actually stays more calm when he doesn't try to give him the bottle. As long as they are both happy, that is fine with me :)

Just not my day...

We had a tornado watch here last night from 3:30am until it was lifted just now. The wind was howling something crazy last night, plus lightening, thunder, and very hard rain. I don't know why, but this storm had me in a panic. I woke up around 3am thinking I heard a tornado. It was just the wind, but I couldn't calm down, so I checked the weather, and of course, right after I turn it on they put our entire area on tornado watch. That did not help ease my nerves at all. I didn't want to go back to sleep for fear of a tornado coming while I was sleeping. My dad called around 4am to tell me that his radio weather radio warned him of a tornado watch, and he told me he would call me again if it turned into a tornado warning. That eased my mind a little bit, so I was able to go back to sleep, but then around 6am I woke up again in a panic because I heard what I thought was a tornado... we live close to an airport... it was an airplane taking off. That happened three more times, and every time my heart would race.

And I am supposed to be in class right now, but I'm not because my windshield wipers are messed up. I only have liability insurance, not to mention I could kill myself trying to drive in the rain like that. I wouldn't have been able to see, so here I am, missing my classes because of this stupid weather.
Then, I was trying to email my teachers to explain to them why I'm not going to be in class... Well, I have a professor named Mrs. Grayson and a professor named Mrs. Gregory. I was trying to email Mrs. Grayson, but accidentally clicked on Mrs. Gregory's name, and didn't realize it until after I sent the message, so I apologized to her and went to send the email to the right person... one problem... in that email I called Mrs. Grayson "Mrs. Gregory." They probably both think I'm hungover and that's why I didn't come to class or something... especially since broken windshield wipers is a terrible excuse, but in my case, it is true.

It's only 9am, and I'm already having a bad day. Hopefully it can only get better from here.

I can't wait to do this!

Once it gets warm, we are going to have a bubble day!

I find so many fun ideas on Pinterest, and I am going to combine all of these to make one fun outing!
We are going to go to a local park, have a picnic, and then blow tons of bubbles! Grace just recently learned how to blow bubbles and Brentley loves to watch them :)

The first one I found was this one...
A link to the directions here.

The next one I found was this one...
A link to the directions here.

Then, I found this one...
A link to the directions here.

And the last one I found...
A link to the directions here.

And we'll bring some regular bubbles too.
I figure it will be easier on us to do them outdoors... no clean up necessary, so I decided to just make a day of it! I think both of the kids (and parents lol) will enjoy it all. I can't wait to do this! It seems very fun and inexpensive... my kind of outing lol.
If anyone knows any other fun bubble related activities, please share!

My babies...

It truly amazes me how different my babies are from each other (comparing Grace at five months old to Brentley now). Grace was (and still is) the outspoken hands-on type. If she wanted something, she would find a way to let you know. She was hands-on because she had to touch everything and figure out how it worked by using it.
Brentley is more laid back. He's content just sitting and observing. He likes to touch everything, but he doesn't try to use it right away. He will examine it, take it in fully before he does anything with it. And he never really demands much. When he's hungry he will just sort of whine until he gets to eat, as opposed to Grace who would scream bloody murder until she got her milk.
He also sleeps a lot better than her. He only wakes up one time at night, usually about five hours after we went to bed, then sleeps for about another five hours.  Sometimes he sleeps for up to seven hours. Grace was an every two hour baby for the longest time. And even when she passed that stage she only slept for 4-5 hours until she was about a year old. Then until about her second birthday she would only sleep about 6 hours. She FINALLY sleeps through the night! Lol.

They are also very different in their looks. Grace has brown eyes and a round face that seem to come from me, then she has dark blonde hair, tan skin, and a nose and mouth that come from Chris. Whereas Brentley has Chris' eyes, hair, and face shape, but my skin tone, nose, and mouth. The only thing that they have the same is hair, and Brentley has a lot more hair than Grace did when she was this age.

In some way though, they are similar. Grace always had to be sitting up, and so does Brentley. And Grace was always a momma's girl, and now Brentley is a momma's boy.
I know that they are both still young, and as they get older they more have more similarities, but as of now, that is it lol.

It just amazes me that Chris and I created both of these beautiful, tiny humans, and even though they come from the same place, they are so different. I love it though. They are both perfect in their own ways. I can't imagine either one of them any other way.

A little update on both of them...
Brentley is doing pretty well. He is not a fan of me being gone according to Chris. He apparently completely refuses the bottle and rice cereal only keeps him happy for a little bit :( I'm hoping he will come around as he gets more used to it. He rolls with intent now... meaning if he wants to get somewhere, he will roll in that direction lol. And he can scoot himself forward on his tummy. He wants to crawl so very bad, but he just doesn't have that ability yet.
Grace is really growing. We have started somewhat working on potty training. It is slow going because of me having to go to school, but she is showing progress. She will say, "I need a diaper change." and it is just as clear as that. And she sort of peed on the potty. She didn't want me to take her diaper off, so I just set her up there with it on. She was dry when I set her there, and wet when I got her down. I know it's nothing major, but it's a start.
She is really progressing in her language. She knows the entire ABC song and she can count to 20!
I just wish we could focus more on potty training. When I'm home I try to take her at least once an hour, but she won't go on the potty. And then when I'm gone, Chris has to deal with unhappy Brentley, and can't really do much with potty training, so it throws her off. We'll get it eventually though.

Oh good grief...

So, this whole blank page blog thing was about to drive me absolutely insane, so I set out on a mission tonight to figure out how to fix it. I searched google, and apparently I am not the first person that this has happened to. I kept trying "solution" after "solution" and nothing was working. I did everything short of deleting my entire blog. Some of you may have popped in while my blog was "under construction." If you did, I apologize. I was going a bit nuts lol.
I did find one thing that semi-worked... reverting my blog back to the old template. Well, that also meant that there wasn't much I could do to customize my blog. I couldn't add my stick family, my baby tickers, or any other sort of "gadget." I didn't like that at all. I like having my blog personalized. And that also meant that I still couldn't view or comment on posts of anyone who was using the new template (which is pretty much everyone). So, I set out once again to find a better solution. I tried deleting all my gadgets and re-adding them. I tried changing templates. I tried restoring "widgets" to original settings. Nothing was working...

Then, I found it! The very last comment on one of the forums I was reading said "change your browser." I had Internet Explorer. It's what came with my computer, and has always worked well for me, but I know a lot of people don't care for it. So off I surfed to download Mozilla Firefox, and what do you know?? It works now!!! I have absolutely no idea what happened, but somehow, the new template designs on Internet Explorer on my computer got messed up apparently.
My blog was in shambles by this time, but I got everything pretty much back to normal. The text is a little different because I couldn't remember the exact colors and fonts I used, but I think I actually like it better now :)

If this ever happens to any of you, try changing browsers FIRST lol.

Remember how I talked about painting letters for my cousin's baby?

Well, I forgot to take a pic of them before I gave them to her, but I've got one now :)

They look so cute with his stuff, and I love how she positioned the monkeys around them! They match well too, which is good because I was going off of a picture I took with my phone lol.

:(

I spent hours yesterday and today loading all my pictures back on my computer. 8 discs, 7 memory cards, and 3 different websites, and I still don't have them all. I couldn't find one of my discs of Grace's second ultrasound, the disc of her birth, or the disk of her first birthday :( I know I have them somewhere, but I have no idea where :(:(:( Those are all major things! Luckly I got her ultrasound pics off of my myspace and I have a lot of her first birthday pics on my facebook, but her birth pics were personal... me with no clothes, her with no clothes, blood, etc, ect. So I don't have those. I really hope I can find that disc!! Especially since it has the video of her actually being born on it!
Then, my mom has the discs that have her second birthday party, our trip to the pumpkin patch, and Brentley's birth, so I don't have any of those pics yet either. But at least I know I can get those.
I know I wouldn't have gotten rid of the disc of her birth. I have no idea why it wasn't with all of my other memory cards and discs. It's going to dirve me nuts wondering where it is!

And even though I'm still missing all of those discs, I still already have 25 folders of pictures, and some of those have hundreds of pictures in them. I LOVE pictures lol. I would have absolutely died if I couldn't have recovered all of them.

Looking back through them all really made me sad to see how much Grace has grown up.

Can you believe it?? I seriously can't lol.

Even my baby boy has grown up so much!

Crazy isn't it??
When I was pregnant with Grace time went by incredibly slow, then I had her and time sped up. Then, I had Brentley, and time has somehow started moving even faster! I'm sad to see them grow up, but I thank God everyday that my babies are happy and growing healthy. Some parents lose that wonderful opportunity, and my heart truly goes out to them. So, while it is sad to see them grow up, I am happy that they are growing up. I guess you would say it's bittersweet.

Who is sitting up??

Brentley is!!

My big boy can sit up on his own now!

I just don't understand this...

My computer is working perfectly fine, and has been, but as of yesterday I can't comment on anyone's blog. Not even my own. And I can't read anyone's comments on my blog. Whenever I click on someone's specific post (including my own specific post) it takes me to a blank screen. I refresh the screen and it stays blank. I can go to your blog page and read the post that way, but once I click on the post to comment on it everything goes blank. This is really annoying me. Is this happening to anyone else?? Well, I suppose if it was you wouldn't be able to comment on this post lol. And if you do comment I won't be able to read it. :( This just stinks. I'm going to try to figure out what's wrong, but so far I haven't found a way to fix it.
I've even tried restarting my computer. I've tried viewing the pages in compatibility view and with no style. Still the same thing. So, if I don't comment back to your comments or don't comment on your posts that is why.

School.

My first day (yesterday) went great. I like all my professors, and the classes seem do-able. Brentley apparently did very well for Chris yesterday. Chris said he slept until 12 and was in a good mood even after I got home.
Today... oh today. I have two Education courses. Without them I can't get into the Education program. I like the classes, but I found out that each class requires me to do 10 hours of field observation. 10 hours each, so 20 all together. That's not so bad. In one of them I don't just observe,  I actually teach. I am looking forward to that! I don't like that I'll have to be away from the kids longer, but I have to do the hours or I'll fail the course because they are mandatory. Also, in order for me to do this, I am required to have a background check and liability insurance. The insurance cost $18 and the background check cost $28. That's not too bad, but I didn't want to spend money on that stuff, you know? I had no idea this stuff was required, and the lady told me that I was supposed to be required to have those before I could sign up for those classes. My school never gets anything right. I was afraid that they were going to try to kick me out of the classes, but she said as long as my background check comes back okay she will let me stay in the classes, which it will because I've never been in any kind of trouble.
And Chris said that Brentley cried a lot today :( He said he cried himself to sleep. Just thinking about that makes me want to cry. Chris forgot about the rice crereal though, so if he cries again tomorrow he's going to try that. Hopefully that'll help.

All in all it has gone pretty good though. My education classes seem like a lot of work, plus the other classes, but I'll manage.

Monday, January 9, 2012

Well...

I got my computer back. Might as well not even be mine. He was able to recover a lot of my pictures, but there are literally thousands of pictures on my computer now. I have no idea what he did... their is every single one of my facebook friends profile pictures, every single picture that has ever been on any of your blog posts, every single cover of things we've watched on netflix and hulu, every single thing I've ever look at on pinterest. There are even pictures I have never seen before! And TONS of pictures that are there, but won't show up, so I have no clue what they are. Then there are corrupt pictures, where only half of them came through. This is not a huge deal to me because I do have the cd's and memory cards with my pictures on them, so I'm just going to save what I can find out of the probably 6,000- 8,000 pictures (no joke).
The bad part is that all the documents he "recovered" are corrupt. I can't open a single one of them, which means that all of Brentley's baby book stuff is gone. I do have a few of his milestones saved in my phone, so I didn't completely lose everything, but still... it breaks my hearts that I have losts some of the important dates in his life. Fortunately he is only four months old, so it's not like he has had a ton of milestones, and I usually post about them on here, so I'm going to go back through my posts and see if I can find any more stuff. That is really the only thing I am really heartbroken over. Luckily I had finished his pregnancy baby book. I would probably have had a break down if I had lost all that without having finished it, but since it's done I am okay with it.
I also lost most of my recipes :( So, I'll have to try to find those again too. Other than that I didn't lose too much that I know of. Nothing I can think of, so it can't be anything too important. I know I lost all my old school work, but that is not necessarily needed.

Now, the good news is that it is running fine, so throughout it all, he actually did manage to fix what he was supposed to fix in the first place. So I guess we'll just go from here. I am thanking God I didn't lose my pictures and I can recover most of his baby book stuff. That is all that really matters.

Still no idea...

what is going on with my computer. He didn't get it finished yesterday like he was supposed to, and the he had the nerve to tell me that if I could find my memory cards it would save him a world of trouble. If I could slap someone through a phone I would have slapped him!! So, he wants the over full time college student with two babies to have to take the time to load hundreds of pictures because it would save HIM a world of trouble. It was HIS fault! He should be going over and above what he has to do to fix it, not be trying to cut corners and make me have to clean up his mess! I am beyond furious now! AND now he told me to call him between three and four today. I called twice and left a message both times, and he still hasn't called me back. I start school tomorrow. I need my computer. I can't do assignments on my iPod. I need my computer. Ugggggggg!

To teen_mom_11

I have no idea if you are even still reading my blog. I just saw your comment on my IUD post. I am very sorry I never replied. For some reason your comment was marked as spam. Concerning the IUD, typically you can start trying to have a baby again right after it is removed. How long it takes to get pregnant after that is different for every woman. They usually reccommend that you have had two children before getting an IUD. As far as weight gain... I have heard of it with Mirena, but not Paragard. I would assume that is because Mirena uses synthetic hormones whereas Paragard is copper based and hormone free. That is why I chose Paragard because it is hormone free. It was either that or no birth control because I refuse to ever use a hormonal birth control again. As far as insertion, it's uncomfortable, but not painful. It's basically like a pap smear. Now, for a few days after you may be in some pain. I was cramping really bad for two days, but havent had a single problem since then. You do have to check to make sure it is still there every once in awhile, but that's it. If you do still read my blog, if you read this and have anymore questions, feel free to ask :)

Seriously? Just really?

My computer started running slower than its ever run before after we picked it up from the guy. My dad reccommended him and told us to take it back over there. We had only had it a week and I didn't do anything different to it. The guy claims that he didn't screw it up, that
we did somehow. Um, I beg to differ! I didn't do anything to it except go to my normal websites! Anyway, he says he has to wipe it again. We go to pick it up today and do you know what he says?? "My drive that was backing up all your files sh*t on me." Just as blunt as that (and in front of my children might I add) this man informs me that he has lost all my pictures, music, documents (school stuff, recipes, Brentley and grace's baby book stuff), everything. It's all gone! Luckily I still have all my memory cards with the pictures. If I didn't this man would be dead! I would have killed him right there. I was about to literally cry because of the pictures and baby book stuff so he was like, "well I can do what the cops do and try to recover it." I was like "yes! Please!" and he acted mad that I wanted him to do that. What the heck?? I asked him like seven times when we dropped the computer off if I needed to back my own stuff up first and he said it would all be fine. Well obviously not! I am so mad! And very sad that I lost all my information for brentley's baby book. Grace was already done and just backed up on there but Brentley's wasn't even printed off yet :( For those of you who know me, you know I am very meticulous when it comes to their baby books. I'm just so upset about all of this. It wont be done until tomorrow, so I won't know if anything was recovered until then.

Update on Brentley and Grace.

Brentley had his four month check-up today. He weighs 21.8 lbs, and he is 26 and 3/4 inches long. He also rolled from his back to his tummy for the first time on the 1st! And he can sit up on his own, without falling for about 15-20 seconds.
His doctor has him on his tummy to check his back, and she said that he holds his head and upper body up with the strength of an eight month old.
She agrees that we are holding off baby food until six months. She says that we can introduce rice cereal with a spoon once a day whenever we want though. We may do that in a day or two that way Chris can have that in case Brentley won't take a bottle while I'm at school.

Grace is 2 years and 2 months old today. She is growing up so quick on me! She is sweet, but strong-willed and a fireball! She is constantly on the go. She never plays with a toy for more than five minutes before she moves on to the next thing that catches her eye lol. She is strong-willed because she doesn't give up. If she wants something, she finds a way to get it. She is sweet because she loves to give hugs and kisses. Whenever someone says, "I love you" she replies with, "too." She will also say sorry if she accidentally hurts someone (or thinks she hurt someone). She is polite as well. She says please, thank-you, and you're welcome almost always. She told me today that she wanted to go potty. She didn't go, but hey, she's showing interested and initiative. She also speaks in mostly sentences now. Simple sentences, but sentences none-the-less. I can't believe she is my little, big girl now. It's bittersweet.

We went to Cracker Barrel today, and they were having a 70% off sale on a ton of their stuff. I got Grace a dress that came with a hat and an outfit (both for spring/summer), and I got Brentley a pair of shoes, an outfit for the 4th of July, two long-sleeve onesies, and a hat that matches one of the onesies. I love finding great sales!

Dates (goes with number 5 on my goals list).

I have been trying to think of fun, season appropriate dates Chris and I can go on (within our budget). I figure Brentley will start baby food in February, and he will be used to it by March, so that is when we will start going on our dates. We have both of our moms willing to watch them, so a babysitter won’t be an issue.

For March: go bowling. We are both competitive, so we like anything with a challenge.

For April: Murder Mystery Dinner Show. I have always wanted to go. It’s one of those dinner and a show things.

For May: not entirely sure. Maybe to a nature trail or to Lake Winnie.

For June: go to Coolidge Park. This is where we went on our first date. We both love going there.

For July: go swimming. This may sound dumb, but we both like to swim, so going baby free would be fun. Don’t get me wrong, it’s fun with the babies too, but a different kind of fun by ourselves.

For August: go play lazer tag.

For September: go Gooney golfing.

For October: go to a haunted house. We both love them!

For November: go to dinner and a movie.

For December: go to the Rock City Enchanted Garden of Lights

We are going adjust money for one date each month. I can’t wait!

Goals for 2012.

I have many goals for this year. I'd like to get them all written down, so I'm going to post them here.

1. Finish the spring, possibly summer, and fall semesters of school, which will put me at the half way mark for my education.

2. Get accepted into the Education program at the end of the year.

3. Find a bigger place to live, and completely organize it. If something isn’t used, get rid of it.

4. Turn 20. I will no longer be a teenager.

5. After Brentley can eat baby food, go on a date with Chris once a month. I miss doing this so much!

6. Redefine my style; no more plain Jane!

7. Lose at least 10 lbs.

8. Get both babies sleeping in their own beds all night long.

9. Potty train Grace.

10. Throw Brentley a wonderful 1st birthday party.

11. Throw Grace a wonderful 3rd birthday party. I’m thinking a Halloween/costume themed party this year.

12. Once Brentley can eat baby food, leave him with Chris every once and awhile, so that I can have some one-on-one time with Grace.

13. After her third birthday, get Grace into something like dance, gymnastics, or soccer.

14. Read my Bible and pray more often.

15. Keep getting stronger in my relationship with Chris.

16. Get married!

These are in no specific order. And I know there are more, but I can’t think of them right now.

Also, Brittany and Erica, sometime around my birthday (Feb. 3rd) we should all get together with the babies. I want to spend some time with my friends for my birthday :)

Picture post :)

Why not ring in the new year with some pictures? :)

The first ones are a couple of months old (taken on 10/27/11), but I just now got them. First are the Halloween pictures, and then Grace's 2nd birthday pictures.

All the rest of the pictures were taken a week ago or less.
 She loves her daddy :)

Brentley loves chatting with his daddy :)

He also loves anything with a screen. He was attacking my computer lol.

Sitting up in the seat  my mom got him. He's getting good at sitting up.

I took these pictures today. Tie dye for New Years :) And I just have to add commentary to them...

"Mom, put that camera away."

"Well, I am cute, so..."

"okay, I'll smile."

"Now seriously, put the camera away."

"Alright, alright, just one last smile."
